Meet our experts…

Between us we have visited every hotel, every cottage, every villa on every island. We have been to the bars and restaurants too – and the sights and attractions – done the hikes, been on the boats, shopped in the mini-markets and met the locals . . .

Gerry Copsey – Managing Director

It’s 30 years in the travel business now and I enjoy it just as much as ever. We really do have delightful clients and it is such a pleasure to deal with them – it is a privilege to have the trust of so many repeat guests who come back to us again and again. It is also very satisfying to be running a business which is contributing to the economic development of the beautiful islands we deal with and the charming people who live and work in them.

I have been very fortunate to travel around the world so much – not just to the Caribbean – and I am often asked which is my favourite island? Impossible to say but I do have some favourite spots for a cold beer at sunset –  Fernando’s in Bequia, Dodgy Dock at True Blue, Umbrella’s or La Sagesse (all in Grenada), or the Atlantis in Barbados or the Hermitage in Nevis. Each perfect in its way and these are the places I dream of on a rainy day in Somerset. Not forgetting the endless list of beautiful beaches…..

I am also privileged to work with such an amazing team of staff – I marvel at their knowledge and ability to arrange wonderful holidays, and their dedication to customer service of the highest possible standard never waivers. The team below are the very heartbeat of the business.

Janet Copsey – Director

Ours is a family business and we love working with hotels that are family concerns too. We share the same ideals about customer service and also the personal touches – which our clients love.

Gerry and I have so many happy memories of all the islands we have visited but I love to find new places too. The east coast of Barbados is a new favourite with its wild undiscovered beaches and charming little villages – it’s fabulous! I was born by the sea in North Wales so I am drawn to beaches – the Caribbean has countless wonderful beaches and with each island offering something unique you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Mandy Burten – Director

My first visits to Tobago were many years ago whilst working in neighbouring Margarita Island.  I would often makes trips across for work and also just to take time out to enjoy the beaches and wonderful rainforest!  It really must have been fate then that I should stumble across Just Tobago shortly after returning to the UK just after the turn of the Millennium!  Much of my working life has been spent in travel, either in tour operating or as a travel agent, but it’s nice to be part of a small specialist company where there is so much attention to detail.

I visited Tobago again at the end of 2017 with my colleague Belinda and I was reminded just how unique each Caribbean island is.  One of the main attractions of Tobago certainly has to be the Main Ridge Forest Reserve for a truly wonderful rain forest experience but I was also blown away by the variety and colour of the amazing hummingbirds – they are truly mesmerising!

Belinda Brendon – Holiday expert

Since taking a Freddie Laker flight in the 70’s I have been hooked on travel and my family and I love to travel to new places. I have a passion for arranging holidays for other people and I really enjoy creating itineraries to help people get the best out of the Caribbean. On Tobago it is easy to get off the beaten track – you just need to know where to go …. If you want to experience island life then where better than the beachside village of Castara staying at Castara Retreats, or a beachfront hideaway hotel in Speyside – Blue Waters Inn. At both locations you can switch off (or tune in if you want to use Wi-Fi), watch the birdlife from the decking of both restaurants and enjoy a dip in the sea. Sounds like a good holiday to me!

Kate Bartlett – Administration Manager

I joined the team here in 2002 and it has been really pleasing to see the Caribbean programme develop and grow as we have added more and more islands to the Just Grenada Group.  My main role is overseeing the administration of holiday arrangements, but I also love arranging holidays for clients using my knowledge of the islands that I have visited. In an age where lots of people just want to click a mouse to arrange their lives, it is nice to find so many people who would rather talk to a real person with knowledge – especially about something so important as a big holiday.

I have visited Tobago a couple of times… it’s a beautiful, lush, green island and the first island that I visited, so holds a special place in my heart. Riding on horseback through the rainforest and then swimming with the horses in the sea after a flat out gallop along the beach will always be a lasting memory for me.

Laura Carpenter – Administration

I joined Just Tobago in 2012 and really enjoy being part of a team which make holiday dreams become realities. I deal with the administration of our clients’ holidays ensuring that all the elements of the itinerary have been put into place such as reserving the best seats on the plane, arranging comfortable and convenient transfers and of course making sure we reserve the very best rooms!

I absolutely LOVE to travel and especially enjoy visiting the Caribbean…… I mean, who doesn’t?!

Ange Ripley – Admin Assistant

I joined Planos Holidays in 2002 and worked on the administration of holidays to the Greek island of Paxos. I really enjoyed being part of the travel industry but left in 2006 to have my children – two lively young boys! I was delighted however when the opportunity arose to re-join the administration team of what is now the Just Grenada Group in 2017. It is great to see how the company has grown and evolved over the years and I’m really looking forward to getting to know the Caribbean…perhaps a visit?

Eddie

Our newest addition to the team, Eddie…

5 months old in July and is already proving to be a real character. A Spaniel/Labrador cross and he has the qualities of both breeds, but being a puppy he is currently excelling at chewing the computer cables, carpets and shoes…

Archie RIP . . .

Our little man, who has been on every newsletter and all our websites for 14 years, has gone where the good doggies go.  The office will never be quite the same – and nor will we……..

Our Charities

We have a long association with various charities in Tobago and we have helped specific projects in other islands too.

We support the TTSPCA – The Tobago Branch of the TTSPCA was founded in late 1968. It is a privately run, non-profit making organisation whose main aim is exactly what the name says – to prevent cruelty to animals. It attempts to locate owners of lost animals, to rehome stray, rescued and unwanted animals, and endeavors to educate the public on caring for animals. The existence of the society is primarily due to legacies, grants, donations, and fund raising activities.

Pack for a Purpose

We are delighted to be a supporter of this excellent charity. It is so simple – when you are packing for your holiday, just pack a small bag with things that are desperately needed by charities in the islands – light things like pens and pencils, soft toys etc are especially welcome in the children’s homes – and it can be collected from you at the airport. It is really easy for you to help – ring us for full details.pack for a purpose logo
