Holidays in Tobago - how to get there
How do we get to Tobago?
Most of our clients choose to fly with Excel
Airways. Excel operates a direct non-stop charter service on Saturday from
Gatwick
South Terminal year round. There is also an Excel Service on Thursdays,
which makes a stop in Grenada outbound but returns direct from Tobago. British Airways operates three scheduled flights to the island, which currently run on Thursday and Saturday (year round)
and Monday (November to March). From May, the Saturday flight will change to Sunday. BA also operates flights to Barbados every
day, which can connect with a local flight to Tobago. Virgin Atlantic operates
a weekly flight to Tobago on Thursday.
Scheduled flights are more expensive than charter flights but they do offer the flexibility to enable you to take holidays of any duration. We suggest you discuss your flight requirements with our staff; who will be pleased to provide a competitive quotation for you.
How long are the journeys?
From the UK to Tobago takes approximately 9 hours. Some scheduled flights fly via another Caribbean Island.
What durations are you able to offer?
At the moment 7, 14 and 21 days flying with Excel Airways although the British Airways service from Gatwick allows holidays of any duration.
What classes of travel are available?
Excel Airways offers two classes, Economy and Excel One – see below.
Can we have access to airport lounge facilities?
Yes – the Penauille Servisair Lounge is situated in the South Terminal at Gatwick to which access can be arranged at £17.50 per person. Just Tobago provides complimentary lounge passes to Excel One passengers.
Can we pre-book our seats?
It is possible to pre-book extra legroom seats with Excel Airways in Economy class at £69 return, subject to availability. This can be done by telephoning 0870 1677 747 once your holiday is booked. It is not possible to pre-book group specific seats with Excel Airways in Economy, however passengers can pre-book seating for £10 per person return which ensures that a group will be seated together. We can forward seating requests for Excel One passengers to the airline on your behalf but please note that we cannot guarantee seat numbers.
What is the baggage allowance?
The allowance per passenger on Excel Airways is 40 kilos in Excel One and 30 kilos in Economy until 30th April. From 1st May onwards the baggage allowance in Economy will change to 20 kilos per person, with Excel One remaining at 40 kilos. It is important to note, however, that due to health & safety legislation, there is a maximum weight per single item of 32kg. This will be strictly enforced. There is no allowance for infants under 2 years. Each passenger is allowed one small item of hand luggage weighing up to 5 kilos, which must be small enough to fit into the cabin overhead locker. Please check the allowances with our staff if ANY part of your journey involves flights with any other airline, particularly if using UK domestic or Caribbean inter island flights as these can vary considerably.
