Half Moon Blue Hotel at the Donkey Cart House

The very name should tell you that this is no ordinary hotel. Former model Gloria Knapp opened a bistro in this 1850s building in 1980, and now she and her husband Reinhold have lovingly restored the property to create this intimate and intriguing hotel. It is quaint, atmospheric, friendly, relaxed and truly unique. Half Moon has just 9 rooms all of which overlook the sea and the premier room is the Penthouse which is a romantic haven of lace and drapes at the top of the hotel. The bar could have been lifted out of old Havana and the Belle Creole restaurant serves lovely local dishes - Gumbos, spicy crayfish-cakes and Mammy’s apple chutney! Relax by the pool or take a 5 minute stroll down to Bacolet Beach with all its facilities including a beach bar serving tasty snacks all day. Half Moon Blue used to be a well-kept secret but as its popularity grows early booking is becoming more and more important. We think this is a real gem where the charming Asha waits to give you a warm welcome.
